Forest School
We are extremely fortunate to have our own wooded area at the end of the playing field in which we offer Forest Schools activities. The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences. Leadership, managed risk, play, nature and community form the key principles of Forest Schools experiences.
Miss Hodgson is our trained Forest School practitioner. She ensures outdoor learning takes place throughout the year, whatever the weather. By participating in engaging, motivating and achievable activities in a woodland environment, each child has an opportunity to develop leadership, team-work, emotional and social skills. Forest School experiences give our children opportunities to demonstrate our core values of resilience, compassion, curiosity, creativity and respect. We observe children showcasing these values in the most unexpected of moments in the forest. We celebrate these moments in our Celebration Assembly on Friday afternoons.
