Croftlands Junior School is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks, which will include references, Right to Work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check for regulated activity (to include a children’s barred list check).

Senior Teaching Assistant required –Term time only. Fixed term post for 1 year required to cover EHCP SEND support required at the school.

23.25 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8:55am – 1pm

Pro rata salary - £11, 513 - £11942 (plus annual leave based on continuous service)

£24496 - £25409 FTE per annum

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our school support team and involves provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 6. We are looking for someone with experience of positive behaviour management, some of it challenging, and with some initiative who is willing to work to meet the needs of the individual child.

The successful candidate will be someone who:

  • Holds at least QCF recognised relevant Level 3
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of the practices and procedures within education relating to the welfare, safety and education of children.
  • Working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
  • Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes.
  • Knowledge of ICT, literacy, numeracy, national curriculum subjects
  • Working with or caring for children and young people
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults
  • Able to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and own position within these
  • Able to prioritise tasks and act on own initiative.
  • Able to motivate and encourage children to develop to their full potential.
  • Is available for some out of school and/or out of term working to support specific activities or events as appropriate.

The post is to start on the as soon as possible, subject to pre-employment checks being complete.
